New Gas Boiler Grants

Fixing your boiler or buying a replacement is very expensive. That’s why in 2013, the UK Government brought in the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) Scheme. The scheme demands energy companies support homeowners to improve heating equipment and reduce the environmental effects of inefficient and faulty boilers.
The ECO scheme includes funding for installing new, energy-efficient boilers. The new gas boiler grant applies to boilers that are over 6 years old which would be too costly to repair. The grant doesn’t just apply to gas boilers but also covers oil, LPG boilers and electric storage heaters.
Do I qualify for a gas boiler grant?
Boiler replacements can be expensive but boiler grants make it affordable for homeowners to make the switch.
You’ll need to pass a few checks to see if you qualify for a boiler grant. As a homeowner, your household must have an annual income of £20,000 or lower.
In addition, you need to be in receipt of at least one of several different qualifying state benefits, including but not limited to universal credit, income support, working tax credit and pension guarantee credit.
All you need to do to check you meet the requirements is submit a short survey.
