Five-Year Partnership Extension with Plus Dane Housing

Next Energy is delighted to announce the extension of its partnership with Plus Dane Housing for a further five years, supporting the delivery of sustainability and warm home improvements across hundreds of homes throughout Cheshire and Merseyside.
Awarded following a competitive procurement process, the new contract will support the delivery of a £10 million investment programme aimed at improving the energy efficiency of homes and helping Plus Dane achieve its ambition of ensuring all homes are EPC Band C or above by 2030.
Building on a successful three-year partnership, Next Energy will continue delivering a range of energy-saving measures, including wall insulation, solar PV installations and replacement windows, helping residents benefit from warmer, more energy-efficient homes and reduced energy costs.
Since 2023, Next Energy has delivered over £17 million of energy efficiency improvements across 1,181 homes, including damp remedial works, internal and cavity wall insulation, underfloor insulation and more than 900 solar PV installations. Together, Next Energy and Plus Dane have also significantly exceeded delivery targets under the Warm Homes programme, achieving 185% of programme goals, compared with a national average completion rate of under 35%.
The partnership has also generated lasting social value, creating opportunities for local employment, green skills development, community investment and energy advice services. Notably, a Plus Dane customer secured employment with Next Energy through the partnership and has since progressed into a full-time career within the energy sector.
The success of the collaboration has been recognised through several industry awards, including Regional Housing Association of the Year at the 2025 North West Energy Efficiency Awards and National Multi-Measure Project of the Year at the 2026 National Energy Efficiency Awards.
Lee Thomas, Senior Contracts Manager at Next Energy, said:
“We are delighted to have secured this new contract with Plus Dane. Over the past three years, our teams have worked collaboratively to deliver meaningful energy efficiency improvements for residents, and the results speak for themselves.
The strength of our partnership, particularly the close working relationship with the Plus Dane sustainability team, has enabled us to exceed programme targets and create real value for customers and communities. We look forward to building on this success, delivering further improvements to homes across the region and supporting wider decarbonisation ambitions.”
Maria O’Connor, Head of Operations at Next Energy, added:
“We’re excited about the next five years and the opportunity to continue making a real difference to people’s homes and lives. Together with Plus Dane, we’ll keep delivering warm, energy-efficient homes while creating positive outcomes for local communities across the region.”
This renewed partnership marks the next chapter in a shared commitment to improving homes, reducing carbon emissions and creating lasting benefits for residents and communities throughout Cheshire, Merseyside and beyond.
