Next Energys 2024 Highlights

As 2024 draws to a close, we wanted to take this opportunity to reflect on some of the incredible achievements we’ve made over the last 12 months.

Supporting Our Communities

This year we have made donations to local schools to enhance children’s educational experiences, offered our support to local care homes to upgrade the technology that can make such a positive impact on mental health and wellbeing, and taken part in Tough Mudder Manchester to raise more than £1,000 for Zoe’s Place in Liverpool, which provides vital support to babies, infants and children with complex needs. We also set up a Just Giving page as part of the City Wide Campaign to save Zoe’s Place raising over £80,000

Awards and Recognition

  • In February, we won the Regional Insulation and Fabric Installer award at the North West Energy Efficiency Awards then we won the National awards in November. Additionally, we were highly commended in the category for Regional Vulnerable Customer Support Organisation of the Year, reflecting the work we do to support the most vulnerable people within our local communities.
  • In July, we won two awards at the Employer’s Excellence Awards. We were delighted to win the Outstanding Commitment to the Environment award, as it celebrates our dedication to ensuring we protect the planet for future generations. We were also very happy to win the Small Employer of the Year Award, which reflects our efforts to promote diversity in the sector and give back to local communities.

Successes and Achievements

  • In January, we were pleased to be able to announce that we had secured deals worth £40 million to deliver our energy efficiency and sustainable living projects in the North East and the North West.
  • In February, we completed our Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) eligibility, which means that we have been officially recognised for our commitment to ensuring that every renewable energy installation we complete is delivered to the highest standards.
  • In April, we reported a record quarter as we secured contracts worth £45.8 million, which highlights the incredible strength and motivation of our whole team. Our partnership with Manchester City Council was also announced in April, which is designed to retrofit 500 homes across the City and help Manchester on its way to achieving Net Zero by 2038.
  • April also saw the grand opening of our West Midlands branch, with a determination to continue delivering life-changing projects to households in the local area with some big contracts. This regional base supports the UK-wide business growth. This new expansion comes as we help 800 homes across Sandwell & Birmingham through the HUG2 scheme.
  • In May, we announced our collaboration with Certas Energy, which is a partnership designed to transform the renewable energy landscape. This is a partnership that will transform the UK’s renewable energy landscape. Certas Energy, the UK’s largest fuel distributor, brings unmatched expertise and an extensive infrastructure to the table. This is huge news for the business that supports the growth of Next Energy and our communities. In the same month, we also announced a four-year framework win with CHIC Ltd, which will enable us to provide our energy efficiency solutions to housing associations and local authorities throughout the UK.

Plus, we’ve very recently announced a new partnership with Birmingham City Council, which will transform the lives of thousands of people across the city by tackling fuel poverty, and announced further SHDF projects with Torus and Great Places Housing Group, to work with these social landlords to improve the energy efficiency of their resident’s homes and help tackle fuel poverty in their communities. There’s so much to look forward to throughout 2025 and beyond, so we want to end by saying a huge thank you to every single person who has helped us to achieve so much in our journey so far.
