Upgrade Your Home With The Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund Wave 3

The government has already spent nearly £858 million to upgrade over 100,000 social homes for the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund, helping people save on energy costs and enjoy better energy security. Now, even more funding is available, and we want to help you benefit from it.

What’s New in Wave 3?

This new wave of funding includes £1.2 billion to improve social housing across the UK. The goal is to upgrade homes to an Energy Performance Certificate of at least Band C. This means warmer, more energy-efficient homes, reduced fuel poverty, and better comfort and health for tenants.

Key Changes You Need to Know:

Application Deadline: If you’re eligible, you have until 31st March 2028 to apply for a grant. All upgrades must be finished by 30th September 2028.
Funding Amounts: Each eligible property can get £7,500 for improvements. If your home is not connected to the gas grid, you can get an extra £7,500 for installing low-carbon heating.
Additional Support: Homes on the gas grid might get up to £20,000 per property for low-carbon heating systems like air source heat pumps, ground source heat pumps, and heat networks.

Who Can Apply?

Wave 3 is more inclusive. If you live in a block or terrace where at least 30% of the homes are social housing, all homes in that block or terrace can apply for improvements. This includes insulation, ventilation, and communal low-carbon heating.

There is no need to prove low-income status, and more types of social housing organisations can apply, meaning many more tenants can benefit.
