Next Energy shortlisted for 3 National Energy Efficiency Awards

The National Energy Efficiency Awards are an annual event that celebrates advances in energy efficiency and rewards businesses for the efforts that they have made to reduce consumption and develop carbon-free renewables in their daily endeavours. This year’s event will be held in Birmingham on the 29th of September.

Reflecting on past success

We were delighted to win an award at last year’s event in the category of Insulation and Fabric Installer/Contractor of the Year. Originally one of 20 nominees, we were thrilled to be recognised for the effectiveness of our ideas, the quality of our workmanship and, most pleasingly, for our outstanding levels of customer service.

Planning for this year’s event

This year, we are very proud to be sponsoring an award at this prestigious event. We decided to sponsor the National Funding Provider of the Year category in order to celebrate the businesses that are willing to fund projects that are aimed at reducing fuel poverty, increasing occupant comfort and pioneering a cleaner, greener planet for future generations to enjoy. Without the funding so generously offered by the nominees in this category, many of the projects that are delivering such benefits to homeowners and tenants across the length and breadth of the UK may never have been possible.

We are delighted to not only sponsor an award at this year’s event but also to have been shortlisted for three awards. We have again been nominated for Insulation and Fabric Installer/Contractor of the Year and additionally have been put forward for the categories of National Multi-Measure Project of the Year and National Insulation & Fabric Project of the Year.

1. National Renewable Heat Installer and Contractor of the Year.

We are the current holders of this award and look forward to defending our title as our achievements are considered against those of other very worthy candidates. We have been nominated for this category for our ongoing commitment to making sustainable energy solutions available to as many customers as possible, promoting the benefits that renewables offer, and dedicating ourselves to the pursuit of ending fuel poverty for those in our local area.

2. National Multi-Measure Project of the Year.

We have discussed our collaborations with the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority in previous posts and are very proud that the work that we have undertaken with the local authority has been recognised at such a level as this. We strongly believe that collaborations between government authorities and private industry bodies are necessary to exploit the full capabilities of the grant schemes that are available and to create a culture of success for homeowners, tenants, and businesses alike.

3. National Insulation & Fabric Project of the Year.

Our passion for carbon reduction has led to us being nominated for this award. We continually support local residents to understand the eligibility criteria of the government grant schemes that are available, determine the most effective measures for their particular properties and help them to apply for the funding that they need to insulate their homes properly. We feel that supporting local residents to live well is the most important part of our job. It makes us feel good to know that our customers are saving money, keeping warm and enjoying the benefits of a well insulated home.

Why energy efficiency is essential

Although fixed price energy contracts are tentatively being offered to the public after a long withdrawal, there still remains little clarity over the energy price cap and what it means to residents. It is hard for homeowners and tenants to plan their energy requirements for this winter, and having experienced one of the coldest and wettest summers for a long time, it is likely that the best laid plans for building up an energy credit will not be as successful as hoped.

Embracing sustainable solutions for heating and insulating our homes becomes increasingly urgent to guard against unexpected price rises, escalating inflation rates and rising food and fuel bills. We firmly believe that the best way to safeguard our future and that of our planet is to embrace the government support that is available, to collaborate with industry partners and to keep the needs of our customers – the British public – at the forefront of our minds as we embark on a journey to self sufficiency, to energy security, and to comfort.
