Next Energy Attends The Labour Party Conference 2023
Next Energy’s Managing Directors, Michael Madigan and Lee McNally and Operations Director, Anthony Daly were delighted to attend the Labour Party Conference 2023. Held at the Titanic Hotel in Liverpool, the event certainly lived up to our expectations, providing inspiring and insightful discussions, excellent company and a superb opportunity for networking.
The Labour Party Conference
The conference was held from the 8th to the 11th of October and was a pivotal gathering of policymakers and industry leaders that provided valuable insights into the Party’s plans and ambitions. We enjoyed hearing the Labour Party reiterate its commitment to renewable energy and industrial prosperity, and delivering information about their Green Prosperity Plan and Industrial Strategy, both of which were met with great enthusiasm from all who attended.
The goals and ambitions of the Labour Party align closely with our own values. We share a common vision of a cleaner and greener future for Britain and its people. One in which the burden of fuel poverty is lifted and renewable energy is the cornerstone of the country’s energy policy. With these shared aspirations being enthusiastically pursued on a national level, we are certain that great strides will be achieved in the near future.
Whilst we thoroughly enjoyed our time at this event, it is not our first engagement with our local political party. Our team has also enjoyed several other very successful engagements with local Members of Parliament and Council Leaders in recent history and we look forward to continuing to build this relationship as we move towards a brighter future.

Labour Party’s Business Breakfast

In early October, Michael and Lee attended the Labour Party’s Business Breakfast in Manchester. We were joined at this prestigious event by MP Lucy Powell, Council Leader Bev Craig and football legend Gary Neville.
Sponsored by RWinvest, the discussion at this event focused on addressing the economic challenges that businesses in the UK are facing, as well as identifying opportunities that we can pursue within our region. It was a wonderful event from which we have come away with new ideas and a strengthened network.

We were over the moon to welcome Labour MP Bill Esterson to the home of one of our customers in Liverpool in mid-October. We had recently completed a suite of energy efficiency upgrades to her property, including installing solar panels and insulating her external walls and loft.
She was delighted to discuss the work that our team had undertaken and explain how the energy efficiency retrofit upgrades were making an immediate difference to her comfort and the cost of her energy bills.
Mr Esterton was most impressed to learn that since the installation of the energy efficiency upgrades she has not needed to use her boiler as solar power and increased insulation are sufficient. We were proud to demonstrate our social values in this way and thrilled that our customer was so happy with the work that we performed and the benefits that she is seeing from it.

The Labour Party and Next Energy
We are very grateful to the Labour Party for their continued support and engagement. Working together to achieve our shared values through collaborative efforts will be the way in which the pressing issues of our time are addressed. By working hand in hand, we see a future in which fuel poverty will be eradicated and all citizens will be able to enjoy a sustainable and resilient future.
In conclusion
Attendance at the Labour Party Conference 2023 was another step along a unified path towards a brighter future, in which renewable energy is not only embraced but celebrated for its ability to create a cleaner, greener and more prosperous future for all. We are enjoying the learning opportunities offered by repeated attendance at these events and hope to continue this professional partnership for the foreseeable future.
Here at Next Energy, we believe that our aims and ambitions are well aligned with those of the UK Labour Party so while we would like to take this opportunity to thank them for including us in their plans and celebrations, we want to also reiterate our commitment to helping them to realise their plans and mission.
