Our successful year is continuing as our Bid Manager, Gareth Marshall, has successfully secured his first contract win for Next Energy with the new Healthy Homes framework that will allow us to deliver our exceptional range of retrofit energy efficiency solutions to even more housing associations and local authorities across the UK.
We would like to congratulate him on this outstanding achievement. He has been resourceful, engaged and demonstrated our core values, both with our team and CHIC Ltd. Well done Gareth, we are sure this is just the first of many wins that you will achieve with Next Energy.
What is the CHIC Ltd Framework?
The CHIC Ltd (Communities & Housing Investment Consortium) Healthy Homes framework will last for 4 years, and in this time, we will implement a wide range of solutions for households across the region, improving tenant safety and comfort and helping them to live well for less.
We are looking forward to building lasting collaborations with other CHIC Ltd suppliers to deliver an end-to-end solution that prioritises tenant comfort. We will be delivering a comprehensive suite of energy efficiency solutions, including photovoltaic solar panels, upgraded boilers, air source heat pumps and insulation, as appropriate for each property, assessed on a case-by-case basis.
Why does this framework exist?
The UK government is committed to achieving Net Zero by 2050, and as the majority of the UK’s carbon emissions come from properties, addressing this is a priority. The UK’s social housing infrastructure accounts for approximately 17% of residential properties in the country, so implementing renewable energy solutions will make a huge difference to the country’s carbon emissions.
A key challenge of retrofitting social housing with appropriate insulation and renewable energy heating and energy solutions is the need to streamline the process of surveying each property, designing an appropriate solution that delivers a positive outcome and value for money, implementing it and measuring that it has delivered against its goals. The Healthy Homes framework is a comprehensive solution that complies with PAS 2030, PAS 2035 and the Building Safety Bill standards and brings together a collaborative approach to resolving this challenge.
By bringing together suppliers and partners across all elements of the buying and installation lifecycle under one framework agreement, we can achieve efficiencies and still guarantee high quality outcomes on each and every property that is upgraded under the scheme.
By working together in this way, we will be part of a movement that makes tenant safety and environmental sustainability a reality rather than a vision.

My first bid success with Next Energy and a really exciting opportunity for us to reach more housing association and local authority clients across the UK over the next 4 years with our full turnkey retrofit solution.”
Next Energy is committed to improving the lives of social housing tenants in both our area and across the wider UK and by working with CHIC Ltd on the Healthy Homes framework, we will be able to drive positive change and help social housing tenants to enjoy the safe, comfortable and sustainable home that they deserve.
