As pressure continues to mount to achieve the government’s challenging Net Zero By 2050 target, interest in renewable energy efficiency measures is increasing and with it, the need for installers to demonstrate their competence.
We at Next Energy feel that it is vital to provide our customers with every possible assurance of our competency, so we volunteered ourselves for the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS), via Simply Certification, and are delighted to report that, as of the 28th February 2024, we have achieved this certification.
Why MCS certification matters
Alongside TrustMark, PAS 2035 and PAS2038, MSC ensures that we conduct all renewable energy installations to the highest quality standards, reducing risk, continuously improving our business processes and demonstrating our commitment to reducing climate change.
Many of the government grant schemes for renewable energy improvements now require that installers are MCS certified, so we look forward to performing more installations and bringing greater benefit to our local community now that we have achieved this certification.
What we had to do to achieve certification
We believe that it is of little value to customers to see that we are certified without knowing what certification entails. In order to be absolutely transparent, we thought it would be useful to detail the process that we went through in order to gain this certification.
Firstly, we had to demonstrate that we understood the importance of the MCS standard and prove the competence, training and qualifications of every one of our installers for every type of renewable energy technology that we install.
We made available our procedures, business processes and Retrofit Design documentation for every installation performed to date, and agreed to submit to annual on-site surveillance inspections. We believe that this enhanced oversight will benefit our operations and our customer care, adding value far beyond simply being members of the scheme.
What this means for our customers
In practice, little has changed. We are still the same company, here to help you to achieve a warm, comfortable and affordable home. Our priority remains to support members of our local community to apply for and receive the government funding to which they are entitled, conducting renewable energy installations as quickly as possible and to the highest possible standards.
