At the end of November 2024, we attended Liverpool City Council’s Winter Warmer Event, which was held at the Hilton Hotel, to offer our advice, expertise and support on how to keep warm throughout the winter months.

What is the Winter Warmer Event?
As the cold weather started to make itself felt to everyone in and around Liverpool, the City Council wanted to take the opportunity to host a free event to deliver expert advice on a range of topics, including healthy eating, fuel poverty, benefits maximisation checks, fuel debt advice, and eligibility checks for energy efficiency schemes.
Winter warmer packs were available to attendees, which included blankets, gloves, hats, a hot water bottle, and other practical items geared towards keeping the cold at bay. There were also free food packs on offer, which came with recipes and advice on how to minimise food waste.
Speaking about the event beforehand, Councillor Laura Robertson-Collins, who is a Cabinet Member of Neighbourhoods, noted that the winter season could be tough for many people, and the council wanted to play their part in addressing concerns over keeping warm.

Next Energy at the Winter Warmer Event
As a team, we wanted to attend this event to provide helpful, accurate information to attendees regarding the steps that can be taken to make properties more energy efficient and the schemes available that can help alleviate the associated costs.
The Liverpool City Council Healthy Homes Team does incredible work throughout the year, providing local residents with impartial, free support and advice on how to maintain, repair and increase the energy efficiency of their properties.
We were delighted to contribute to an event that was very well attended, which meant that we had the opportunity to speak with many different people about the work we do and the services we offer.
If you weren’t able to make it to the event or you’re keen to explore some of the options available to you that could help you to increase the energy efficiency of your home, please feel free to get in touch, as we’re always on hand to help and advise.
