As regular readers of our blog will be aware, social value is a cornerstone of our business mission, and we demonstrate our commitment to our community in a variety of different ways. We are truly passionate about charity work, regularly supporting charities that make a difference in our local community and those with whom we have personal connections.
Another way in which we engage in social value is to support young people in our community to access the tools and support that they need to live their lives to the best of their ability. We believe that the young people in our community are our future and that they need to be empowered and helped to achieve their ambitions. Only by investing in the future generation can we make a lasting difference.
St Paschal Baylon School
We support a number of schools in our community, and St Paschal Baylon is one that we particularly enjoy spending time with. This Catholic primary school’s values align closely with our own. They have a keen focus on learning, respect for others, wellbeing and charity work. In fact, several of the charities that the school supports are charities that we also think a great deal of. One of these is the Alder Hey Children’s Charity, for whom we regularly fundraise.
This close alignment in values is one reason why we recently chose to donate £3,500 to the school to enrich the lives of the children that attend. The money will be put to great use, increasing the selection of library books that are available to the students and installing a new athletics track. These measures will enhance the learning experience for the children of St Paschal Baylon School and hopefully provide them with great enjoyment too.
We firmly believe that every child in this country has the right to a great education and the tools that they need to help them to succeed in life. By investing in the athletics track and updated library book selection at St Paschal Baylon School, we are encouraging its students to live well, to exercise and spend time outdoors, to ignite their creativity, and expand their horizons.
With luck, some of the students that this donation will help will one day go on to pursue careers in the field of renewable energy, giving back to society and helping our country to realise a cleaner, greener planet.
Why social values matter to us
We are a local company and have experienced the challenges that come with growing up in an underprivileged area. We have fought hard to break free from stigma and adversity with the support of charities, schools and groups that believed in us, and we feel that it is only right that we give back to the society that helped us to become the thriving and forward-thinking business that we are today.
By investing in our local community, creating jobs for local people, supporting youngsters to achieve their career ambitions and shining a light on fuel poverty in our area, we believe that all of the challenges that we face can be overcome. When we collaborate with government departments and other private and public bodies, we become a strong, united team against injustice, and by supporting the establishments that helped us, we can create a powerful force for good in the next generation.
With each generation believing in themselves and being able to access the help that they need to thrive, we create tighter, closer communities that believe in the greater good and work together to achieve unifying goals. By supporting each other, contributing to the education of today’s pupils and safeguarding the great work undertaken by local charities, we can eradicate fuel poverty and help everyone in our community to live safely, comfortably and well.
In conclusion, the donation that we recently made to St Paschal Baylon Primary School will have far-reaching consequences beyond those that are immediately visible. The students will recognise that we believe in them, that we trust them to do their best and to support each other to achieve success. And there is no greater feeling than knowing that the students of today will become the pioneers of tomorrow.
