Whilst Next Energy Solutions have become one of the most trusted & reliable specialists within the renewables, heating and insulation sectors. Despite all this Director Lee McNally hasn’t forgotten his roots, & social value is at the heart of what he does. Lee is constantly looking for ways to give back to society.
What is Social Value?
Social value is the term to define the wider community or public benefit created in the delivery of a service. That is to say, businesses & their employees taking pride in their ability to support communities. Although there is little personal benefit for the business or employee we still hold it a high priority. For Lee McNally & the team at Next Energy, it means donating tickets to public events to children in Alder Hey hospital, taking on apprentices to support youngsters in entering this sector and developing their skills. Most recently, it was a significant & generous donation to Swanside Community Centre, the centre that Lee attended as a child.
Lee’s Background
Growing up in Huyton, Lee was a regular at the Swanside Community Centre. Lee would attend the youth club as well as taking part in a multitude of activities & so he has a real passion for the work of the Community Centre. Along with colleague Anthony Daly who also attended the Community Centre in his youth. Lee recently returned to deliver a very generous donation, which included the funds to build a log cabin. This donation would improve disabled access by establishing new pathways and a van to enable the Swanside Community Centre to deliver food to those in need. Next Energy Solutions are even funding the delivery driver and the food costs.
For Lee McNally & his dedicated team, the act of supporting good causes doesn’t need recognition, but the children and staff of Malvern Primary School thought differently & awarded him the Malvern Primary School Kindness Award. The Kindness Award recognises both Lee McNally & Anthony Daly as “community heroes” & thanks them for their support of the Swanside Community Centre’s Lifting Hearts scheme.
Swanside Community Centre
The Lifting Hearts scheme is Swanside Community Centre’s terminology for the excellent work they do, delivering food parcels and meals to isolated people at home. It supports the elderly & vulnerable with food shopping, prescription pick-ups & providing clubs at the centre that the community can get involved with. The Community Centre also supports Malvern School’s breakfast club each morning which perhaps explains why the school feels so passionately about the support provided by Lee and the team at Next Energy Solutions.
For Next Energy Solutions, this Kindness Award is just as important, if not more so, than than the award for “National Renewables Installer of the Year” which the company received in 2021 and Lee & the team would like to extend their thanks and gratitude to Malvern School, in particular to the students, for recognising them in this way.
