We had a wonderful time last month at Roby Park Primary School’s Christmas Market. This local school planned a superb day of activities, including a fair for the children and their families. This sounded like the type of event that we all thoroughly enjoy, so when we found out about it, it gave us a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate our social values at a very special time of the year. We purchased all of the tickets to the event and gifted them to the families who attended, allowing them free entrance to the market and free rides at the fair.
We thoroughly enjoyed seeing how much all of those who attended relished the event and we hope that by saving some money at entry, the school’s fundraising efforts will have also received a boost, allowing them to increase the value of their coffers to fund vital activities and equipment for the children in the year ahead.

Plans for 2023
Of course, while we were at the Christmas Market, we took the time to talk to Santa about our plans and hopes for 2023. We are pleased to report that we have it on good advice from the big man that the Government is launching a new energy efficiency scheme in the spring of 2023. This will be known as ECO+ and will be open to a wider range of applicants than previous schemes, allowing hundreds of thousands of UK householders to improve their home insulation for free or at a minimal cost. Whilst Christmas 2023 may seem like a long way away, we are still setting our sights on helping deserving people and we will continue to engage in other social and community projects in our local area, supporting worthy causes and promoting our social values. We will continue to hire, educate and empower our apprentices and employees, creating meaningful jobs for those in our area.
With the launch of new home energy efficiency schemes to run alongside the existing ones, we are sure that all of our team will be kept busy this year. We have to accept that we are in a cost-of-living crisis but this does not need to be all bad news – it does, in fact, offer opportunities. The opportunity to educate ourselves and others on cheap and efficient ways to remain warm and comfortable at home; the opportunity to engage with others, checking on our neighbours and providing companionship and support; and the opportunity to create local jobs for local people to deliver the home improvement programmes that are so desperately needed to help stabilise the economy and allow home-owners and tenants alike to gain a tighter grip on their finances.
We believe that Christmas 2022 was a catalyst for change and we are delighted to be at the forefront of this change.
