There are many things that we at Next Energy are passionate about from helping people save money on their energy bills to giving deserving people a day that they will never forget.
One thing that we do love at Next Energy is football. Many of our team are keen Liverpool FC supporters & whenever we get the chance to watch them play it is always special. We are all truly passionate about supporting local charities too, and one which is very close to our hearts is the Alder Hey Children’s Charity. This charity cares for 330,000 children and their families at Alder Hey Hospital every year, delivering life-saving equipment, participating in research programmes, and driving significant innovations and improvements to children’s health care.
We have combined our passions for football and Alder Hey Children’s Charity before and it was very well received, so when we began discussing potential charitable donations and activities for 2023, giving a match day experience felt like the right thing to do. We are in regular communications with Cath Harding from the charity and she was delighted to be involved in our latest charitable experience.
Cath identified the perfect candidate to receive a gift of match day experience tickets to a Liverpool FC home game. Young Freddie is receiving medical treatment at the Alder Hey Hospital where he has been stoic, brave and optimistic throughout. This fantastic young man is an inspiration so when we found out that he is also a Liverpool supporter, it was clear that he would be the ideal person to receive the tickets. We are over the moon & so grateful to be able to offer amazing experiences to people like Freddie.
Freddie and four generations of his family enjoyed a great day out watching Liverpool FC. Freddie’s mum reported that the whole family was completely overwhelmed and delighted to see Freddie looking the happiest that he’s been in a long time.
Making children smile is a big part of the work that Alder Hey Children’s Charity do. They not only fund vital medical equipment, but they make sure that the children who stay at Alder Hey Hospital are entertained and their mental health is given the same level of care as their physical health during their time in the hospital. The charity funds a magician, musicians and play specialists to help keep the children motivated and positive and also provides support and advice to parents and families.
Being based a mere eight miles from our headquarters in Liverpool, it is not surprising that some of our staff have personal experience with the hospital and the charity and this is one reason why this particular cause is so close to our hearts. The Alder Hey Children’s Charity is a very worthy cause and one which needs regular donations to help them to continue to deliver their vital service. For those that cannot afford to donate, the Charity is always looking for volunteers and for people to perform sponsored activities to raise funds for them. We are really thrilled to continue our association with this wonderful charity and look forward to joining forces with them again in the future and to making another family in our local area smile. As always, Next Energy would like to extend a thank you to our current clients which provide programmes of work for us to deliver across the region. Without such opportunities, we would not be in a position to help families such as Freddie’s.
