Do I qualify?
If you are a homeowner you may qualify for free boiler grants. Your household income will dictate whether you are eligible to receive a free boiler grant. Liverpool and Knowsley Councils have set specific criteria for who qualifies for a boiler grant in these areas. To qualify for free boiler grants in Merseyside, as of 2021, households must have net incomes of the following amounts or less in order to qualify for a free boiler grant:
One adult, no children: £16,312
One adult plus one child: £26,412
One adult plus two children: £34,389
One adult plus three children: £42,482
Two adults, no children: £24,350
Two adults plus one child: £31,249
Two adults plus two children: £39,203
Two adults plus three children: £47,812
Two adults plus four or more children: £55,585
If you live in private rented accommodation, you are currently not eligible to apply for the above free boiler grant. All people who qualify for Universal Credit are now eligible for funding towards their heating costs and insulation repairs. If you receive disability benefits, income support or tax credits, you will also qualify for help under this new scheme.
Homeowners also qualify for the ECO free boiler grant if they live in a home that has an energy rating of E, F, or G. You can find your home’s energy efficiency rating on its energy performance certificate (EPC).
Pensioners may also qualify for free boiler grants as long as they’re in receipt of Pension Guarantee Credits or another working tax benefit.
