We recently sponsored and attended the Energy Capital Partnership 2024 Autumn Conference where we had a great time networking with existing connections and making lots of new ones near our brand-new Sandwell office.

What is the Energy Capital Conference?
Held at the School of Architecture at Wolverhampton University in the West Midlands, more than 300 corporate leaders, investors, and executives attended the Energy Capital Conference 2024.
This landmark event provided a wide range of networking opportunities for industry professionals eager to contribute to the shaping of a positive energy landscape that serves the needs of communities and businesses long into the future. Next Energy was the platinum sponsor of this event, with our Operations Director Anthony Daly speaking and introducing our company. Anthony also participated in one of the panels which discussed retrofit.

What We Learned
Energy Capital is at an important point in its journey toward becoming fully established as a national leader with regard to energy system innovation. Throughout the conference, we learned more about a selection of pioneering projects and initiatives from right across the partnership, all of which are helping to position the West Midlands at the heart of the country’s approach to energy innovation.
It was exciting to see that there is clearly a very strong strategic vision for the whole region, and there are countless opportunities for businesses to work together and ensure that the West Midlands will continue to play a central role in the UK government’s plans to:
- Execute their Warm Homes Plan to upgrade millions of properties
- Successfully deliver a new, clean power system
- Create high-quality jobs in long-standing industrial heartlands
Final Thoughts
The Energy Capital Conference was a well-attended event, and we had some amazing conversations throughout with innovative businesses, policymakers, and industry leaders. We learned a lot from cutting-edge projects and shared our own thoughts and goals, which meant that we all left feeling hugely inspired and excited about the plans and projects we’ve got coming up.
It was really positive to see that so many people are working together to deliver an efficient energy system that meets Net Zero commitments, particularly as the whole Next Energy team recognises the wide range of benefits that come from cleaner, greener energy solutions for families, communities and businesses.
If you want to get involved in the future of Next Energy or find out more about the projects we are working on, drop our team a message because we’d love to hear from you! There has never been a better time to get involved and play a vital role in the future of energy in the UK.
