Next Energy Retrofit Secures Deals Worth £40m

We are delighted to be able to share a monumental achievement with our Next Energy community – a milestone that underscores our commitment to sustainable living and energy efficiency. Next Energy, based in Prescot, has successfully secured multiple deals amounting to an impressive £40 million. These contracts mark a significant step forward in our mission to deliver improvements in energy efficiency to homes in both the North East and North West regions.

Our success story involves collaborations with the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund Wave (SHDF) and the Home Upgrade Grant (HUG2) initiatives championed by the government. This substantial investment will empower us to embark on transformative journeys with some of Merseyside’s leading social landlords, including Livv Housing Group and Dane Housing. Additionally, our expertise has been recognised by Manchester City Council and Cheshire East Council, enhancing our reach and impact across the region.

As we embark on these ventures, we are delighted to be able to extend our services to many national providers of social housing, enabling us to touch the lives of over 4,000 homes over two years. The significance of these contracts cannot be overstated, as they represent a pivotal moment in our pursuit of sustainable and energy-efficient living spaces.

What does this mean for the homes we service? At Next Energy, our commitment goes beyond mere installations; we are architects of change. Our retrofit projects are comprehensive, incorporating air-source heat pumps and solar PV panels. We provide external wall, cavity wall, and loft insulation, addressing every facet of a home’s energy efficiency. But we don’t stop there. Roof, floor, and internal wall retrofits are all part of our commitment to creating homes that are resilient to the challenges of the future. Replacement windows and doors are on our checklist too, ensuring a wide-ranging transformation that goes far beyond expectations.

The financial impact of our retrofit initiatives is tangible and transformative. Households undergoing our energy-efficient upgrades stand to save £567 per year, on average. These savings are not just numbers – they translate into financial relief and security for families facing the pressure of the current cost of living crisis, enabling them to navigate the ever-rising tide of energy costs with confidence.

Collaborations with household names such as British Gas, Npower, E.ON, and OVO Energy have played a crucial role in helping us not only meet but exceed the targets that were set by the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) Scheme. These partnerships highlight not only our dedication to excellence but a shared commitment to driving positive change within the energy sector.

Our Director, Lee McNally, emphasised that by partnering with housing associations and Combined Authorities, we can help to bring down household bills, improve energy efficiency and address the climate crisis. McNally’s words echo our core philosophy – that energy efficiency is not just a service we provide. It is our contribution to a larger movement addressing the urgent challenges of fuel poverty and harmful carbon emissions.

The urgency of our mission cannot be overstated. More than 3 million households in the UK are currently grappling with fuel poverty. In the face of a planet burdened by the escalating threat of carbon emissions, there has never been a more critical need for well-insulated homes. At Next Energy, we recognise the magnitude of this challenge and are not merely service providers but agents of change.

Our commitment extends beyond the financial savings and energy efficiency gains. We are champions of a sustainable future. As we celebrate this £40 million worth of contracts, we recognise that we are not just securing deals, we are securing a future where homes are not only comfortable and energy-efficient but also environmentally responsible in the face of an ever-changing climate.

At Next Energy, we are not just retrofitting homes. We are pioneering a green revolution in the North. Our projects are a manifestation of a commitment to a future where energy efficiency is not a luxury but a necessity. As we move forward with these contracts, we invite our community to join us in shaping a greener, more sustainable tomorrow. Together, let’s build a future where every home is a beacon of energy efficiency and sustainability.
