Do You Qualify for the ECO4 Scheme?

Think you might not be eligible for ECO4? You could be surprised. Every day, we speak to people who assume they won’t qualify for ECO4 support—only to find out they do! Our friendly team specialises in government energy grants and can quickly check your eligibility.

In general, to qualify for ECO4, your home should:

  • Have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of D and below.

And one of the following:

  • Receive a qualifying means-tested benefit, such as Universal Credit, Pension Credit, Housing Benefit, Income Support, or similar.
  • Or a referral from your local council under the ECO4 Flex scheme if you are on a low income, vulnerable, or living in fuel poverty. Contact Next Energy for more information.
  • Or have a long term health condition that is worsened by the cold.

Next Energy is the approved installer for ECO4 upgrades in Bolton, Salford, & Wigan in partnership with the Greater Manchester Combined Authority.

The UK government expects at least 3.5 million homes to be eligible for ECO4 support.

ECO4 Flex allows councils in Bolton, Salford, and Wigan to widen eligibility, so households not on benefits could also qualify for free home upgrades!

Homes upgraded under ECO4 contribute to Greater Manchester Combined Authority’s goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2038.
